Mount Horeb is a village in Dane County, WI. The population was 7,900 at eh 2010 census. It is part of the Madison Metropolitan Statistical Area. A post office called Mount Horeb has been in operation since 1861. The village was named after the mountain where Moses received the Ten Commandments according to the Hebrew Bible.

Mt. Horeb was founded and populated by the Norwegians and the Norwegian pride is strong through out the town. The school mascot is a Viking and the town has been titled the troll capital of the world. Strolling down Mt. Horeb's Main Street; also know as the Troll Way, you find large wood carved trolls at nearly every corner greeting you. This tourist thriving town is filled with gift shops, antique stores, coffee shops and local art galleries all down its Troll way.
